Dr. Harold Don Allen
(1931-2020)
Educator, Numismatist, and Chronicler of Nature听

Dr. Harold Don Allen, who taught generations of math students and future teachers, instilled a sense of wonder in bright young people about the beauty of numbers and cryptograms, brought a storyteller's passion to the curation of numismatic history from banknotes to milk tokens, and loved nature and the lore and the lure of the Canadian North, passed away quietly on July 11, 2020 in Brossard, Quebec, the family at his side.

缅北强奸 Education student teachers take part in four Field Experience courses where each student is placed in an elementary or high school, according to their program. These internships are progressive from fist year to fourth year where students鈥 in-school participation ranges from class observations and tutoring to full weeks of independent teaching and classroom management. Student teachers are guided by cooperating teachers and adjudicated by 缅北强奸 field supervisors from the Office of Internships and Student Affairs.

The Office of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) delivers community-based teacher education and professional development programs to Indigenous 缅北强奸 students across Quebec. 缅北强奸 academics and staff have formed longstanding partnerships with four partnering Indigenous education authorities, Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI), the Cree School Board (CSB), the Kahnaw脿:ke Education Centre (KEC), the Listuguj Education, Training and Employment Directorate (LETED), and are cultivating new relationships with First Nations school boards all the time.

Fanny Langin, Education Undergraduate Society鈥檚 former President, is an outstanding example of 缅北强奸 students鈥 capacity to adapt and grow in times of uncertainty and change. Not only did she complete her Bachelor of Education in the Winter 2020 semester, but Fanny has also been busy teaching French second language classes online. In late March, when parents of some West End public schools were seeking additional instruction for their children while schools were closed, Fanny answered an ad placed through the Faculty鈥檚 Internships and Student Affairs Office.

The tragedy of George Floyd鈥檚 death, while having taken place in the United States, has provoked us to think about direct and indirect prejudices that perpetuate in our own communities.

COVID-19 will not keep the Faculty of Education from celebrating more than 600听students who will be awarded their degrees through a virtual commencement on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Due to the ongoing health concerns of COVID-19, 缅北强奸鈥檚 in-person convocation ceremony originally planned will be postponed, but rest assured that the Class of 2020 will be honored.
