The specimen shows a large saccular aneurysm of the ascending aorta (arrows (A)), mostly filled with laminated clot (seen better on a lateral view, (B)). The mouths of two smaller aneurysms can also be seen on an oblique view (arrows (C)). One of these has ruptured into the right main bronchus (D). The glass rods indicate the aortic arch vessels.

Clinical details are not available; however, the descriptive card indicates the patient died of pulmonary hemorrhage.
