Philip S. S. The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has been a source of deep preoccupation to many of us. As Principal of our university, I am reminded of the need for 鈥� and the potential fragility of 鈥� stability and peace in order to pursue higher learning and the advancement of knowledge.

Born in France and raised in Quebec, Iona Amico is the daughter of a Cameroonian mom and an Italian dad who grew up biracial in a predominantly Caucasian neighbourhood. Despite having faced incidents of bigotry and feeling like she was between two worlds, she did not let these experiences jade her.

Dr. Joe Levitan was awarded the 2021 A. Noam Chomsky Global Connections Award as an Emerging Scholar, which is presented by the Society of Transnational Academic Researchers. This award recognizes emerging scholars who have shown significant promise and commitment to transnational research.
The Society of Transnational Academic Researchers is a network of scholars working across borders with representation from over 15,000 members in 2,353 universities spanning 115 countries.
Shaheen Shariff from the Department of Integrated Studies in Education, and Farah Stonebanks, a graduate student researcher, have written an opinion article in the National Post on the social media bullying crisis children face.
John R. Sylliboy is the recipient of the Kausattumi Grants Program Graduate Scholarship Award of 15,000 with the Atlantic Indigenous Mentorship Network for the second year. The award supports John in conducting his research with the L'nu'k (Mi'kmaw people) of Eskasoni First Nation.
DISE's Janine Metallic and Jessica Coon were recognized as "finalists" for the SSHRC Connection Impact Award, for their work together on Mi'gmaq, and continuing work to help support Indigenous languages and resources at 缅北强奸.
