These programs are restricted to students from the Aboriginal community or Inuit community workers employed by Nouveau Québec. The aim of these programs is to prepare Aboriginals and Inuit community workers for social work practice within their communities.

Certificate in Aboriginal Social Work Practice

Certificate in Aboriginal Social Work Practice

This certificate aims to prepare Aboriginals for social work practice in their own communities.

Certificate in Aboriginal Social Work Practice (30 credits)

Currently under review. Admissions will not be accepted for the 2012-2013 academic year.

The Certificate in Aboriginal Social Work Practice provides professional training in assessment and counselling skills for a range of social problems such as addictions, family violence, child abuse, and mental and physical health. Courses are planned to reflect the sociocultural characteristics of Aboriginal society as well as the specific social service needs of their communities.

In addition to the requirements found in Admission Requirements for Certificate Programs, applicants must provide two (2) letters of recommendation from their Aboriginal community.
