Our program is designed to equip all surgical residents with the essential knowledge and skills required across all surgical specialties. Residents from nine surgical disciplines are automatically enrolled and follow our comprehensive academic curriculum, which includes a month-long surgical bootcamp and academic half-days throughout their first year.
We closely monitor residents' progress through rotation evaluation reviews and Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs), overseen by our competency committee. Additionally, we prepare our residents for the Principles of Surgery examination administered by the Royal College, a prerequisite for their specialty certification exams.
Our program ensures that residents receive the foundational training necessary for success in their surgical careers, fostering the development of the next generation of leading medical professionals.
Our program is unique in Canada, serving as a single entity that coordinates the administration and teaching for all first year and some second-year surgical residents. We are functionally divided into four key areas: academic program, clinical program, evaluation of teaching and learning, and administration and coordination of clinical rotations for junior residents across thirty Clinical Teaching Units. This comprehensive structure ensures that our residents receive cohesive and high-quality training, fostering excellence in surgical education and practice.
Rotations are held in the five 缅北强奸 clinical centers:

We hold weekly academic sessions at most of the aforementioned health centers, as well as at the Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning. These sessions provide practical experience that complements clinical education and aligns with the key competencies defined by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons' CanMEDS guidelines.
