Chromatin Organization, Insulators and Long Range Interactions in the Nucleus

The protein CTCF has been the focus of many investigations because among other functions, it helps to organize large scale chromatin architecture in the nucleus.听 But CTCF also recruits factors that may allow it to carry out other functions as well.听 Following the trail of CTCF leads to insights concerning long non-鈥恈oding RNA function, centromere organization, and long-颅鈥恟ange interactions that help regulate insulin secretion in pancreatic islets.
