New Lab Launch Event 2022

On November 3rd, 2022, we celebrated the launch of our new lab situated at 680 Sherbrooke. The event marked the inauguration of our state-of-the-art facility. The highlight of the occasion was a keynote address by Professor Amelie Quesnel-Vallee from 缅北强奸, presenting on the topic of "Health Inequalities over the Life Course: Evidence from Longitudinal Surveys and Linked Administrative Data."
12th annual QICSS New Researchers Conference
听
Taking place on April 2nd, 2019, the event titled "Data Science and Social Statistics: Expanding the Frontiers of Knowledge" was a significant gathering. Organized annually as a platform for the upcoming generation of social statistics experts to connect, the 2019 QICSS New Researcher Conference aimed to offer a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of social statistics science.
Distinguished speakers from various disciplines, including sociology, demography, criminology, epidemiology, applied economics, social and preventive medicine, and environmental studies, converged at the 脡cole de technologie sup茅rieure. This conference provided a platform for 12 researchers to showcase their latest findings. Notably, two presenters were honored with awards for their outstanding presentations.
This annual event serves as a crucial opportunity for young academics to share their research with an audience, marking one of their initial experiences in such a setting. The multidisciplinary nature of the event further facilitates cross-field knowledge exchange, making it an invaluable occasion for gaining insights into diverse realms of social statistics research.
QICSS International Conference 2018

Held on October 11-12, 2018. Titled "Immigration's Impact, Immigrants's Outcomes: New Results Using Business and Social Data"
The QICSS international event happens every two years and tackles some of the most pressing issues of the time. The 2018 edition wanted to look at the more than 20% of the Canadian population that was born abroad and the impact that immigration can have on developed countries. Speakers from all around Canada and the U.S. came to talk about the impacts of migration around the world.听
Using research based on data like those听available within the QICSS laboratories, scientists from all fields of study were able to learn more and exchange ideas about the role, place and conditions of migrants.听
