As a Ã山ǿ¼é student, you are responsible for knowing the rules and regulations concerning academic honesty, which can be found on the Student Rights and Responsibilities website. It is also your responsibility to help maintain the academic integrity of the University.

Cheating or plagiarizing by even one student hurts all students, because anything that undermines the evaluation process undermines the value of Ã山ǿ¼é's degrees. Therefore, carefully considered steps are taken to prevent students from cheating or plagiarizing and to catch those who do. Unfortunately, some students still resort to dishonesty, but any Ã山ǿ¼é student caught cheating or plagiarizing faces potentially serious consequences including, but not limited to the possibility of conduct probation and a failure in the course, and ineligibility for non-mandatory activities such as Study Away. Such sanctions may form a permanent part of the student's disciplinary record.

As of Fall 2018, all newly admitted undergraduate students in the faculties and schools listed below must complete the Academic Integrity Tutorial (AIT) in Minerva during their first semester at Ã山ǿ¼é:

• Agriculture, Arts, Dentistry, Education, Engineering, Law, Management, Medicine, Music, Nursing, Physical and Occupational Therapy, and Science (including the BARSCI)
• And including the FMT program

Important Notes:

• The Tutorial takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
• The exact content of the Tutorial is available at: /students/srr/honest/students/test
• Failure to complete the Tutorial will result in an Academic Integrity Tutorial (AIT) hold, which prevents registration in Minerva.
• The AIT hold is automatically released as soon as the student completes the Tutorial in Minerva.
• The AIT hold cannot be manually expired and will only be released when the student completes the Tutorial.
• New students who don’t complete the Tutorial by the middle of their first term are sent an email reminder according to the following schedule:
  • Fall Term – Last week of October
  • Winter Term – Last week of February
• The AIT hold is added to the records of new students who have not completed the Tutorial according to the following schedule:
  • Fall Term – Last week of November – blocked from add/drop in the Winter term
  • Winter Term – Third week of March – blocked from add/drop in the future Fall/Winter terms
