Processing your application

When you apply for graduate studies at the School of Human Nutrition your application passes two critical stages before a final decision is made.

1. Once your application file is complete (completed application form, application fee, two letters of recommendation, transcripts, and TOEFL and GRE scores, if applicable), it is reviewed by the School Human Nutrition鈥檚 Admissions Committee to determine if you meet the academic requirements necessary for graduate studies at 缅北强奸.听

The Admissions Committee considers carefully the Personal Statement of applicants as well as any Additional Questions that are part of the online application. Statements are expected to be individual in detail and presentation, but should address areas of interest, academic background, nutrition-related experience and career goals.听 MSc Applied: Project Option applicants should identify their interests broadly within clinical, community and international or experimental nutrition, as well as in relation to Project Topics on the program page.听 MSc Thesis and PhD applicants are expected to focus on research experience and interests in relation to the expertise and research activities within the School of Human Nutrition. 听Our professors and cross-appointed professors from other units at 缅北强奸 (such as Animal Science, Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Food Science and Agricultural Engineering, Medicine or Parasitology) together form a fine avenue for interactive nutrition-based interdisciplinary research that can be explored through their individual webpages.

2. M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis only: Applicants are highly recommended to contact potential supervisors in conjunction with applying. Once you have been accepted on the basis of your academic record, the second phase involves the circulation of your application file to prospective supervisors, as identified by the area of research or names of professors indicated in your application. Potential supervisors consider the quality of the applicant, research interests, the availability of supervised laboratory or community activities and funding. Based on the recommendation of the prospective supervisor(s) the Committee on Graduate Students of the School of Human Nutrition recommends acceptance, conditional acceptance or non-acceptance to the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office. You will receive official notification of the decision from the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office.

3. M.Sc. Applied students do not require identification of a supervisor to be accepted into the graduate program.

A recommendation to the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office is usually made within two weeks of the Committee on Graduate Students meeting. Incomplete applications are not processed. The applicant assumes all responsibility for ensuring that the application is complete.
