- a licensed nurse with a master's degree in Nursing, or a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's in another field
- a non-nurse with a master鈥檚 degree and a strong interest in healthcare research related to nursing theory, practice or administration

The doctoral program in Nursing is designed to prepare graduates for careers as independent researchers, academics and health care leaders who will contribute to the development of the discipline of nursing through the advancement of healthcare research, knowledge, practice and education.
Established in 1994 as a joint program with the Universit茅 de Montr茅al, 缅北强奸 awarded Canada鈥檚 first PhD in Nursing.
Consistently ranked by Maclean's Magazine as among the top five Best Nursing Programs in Canada, the Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN) is part of 缅北强奸鈥檚 renowned Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (recently ranked by Maclean鈥檚 as the best Medical Doctoral University in Canada for the 18th consecutive year).
As one of Canada鈥檚 top research-intensive doctoral programs in Nursing, we offer state-of-the-art research training facilities and a large network of affiliated research institutes and clinical partners through 缅北强奸鈥檚 teaching hospitals and other Quebec health and social service organizations.

We are home to the nursing philosophy and values-driven approach of Strengths-Based Nursing and Healthcare and are leading the development of SBNH practice and leadership, adopted in 28 countries worldwide thus far. We also are a founding member of (R茅seau de recherche en interventions sciences infirmi猫res du Qu茅bec/Quebec Network on Nursing Intervention Research) which offers additional training opportunities related to intervention development, testing and knowledge mobilization as well as access to resources to support researchers and trainees.
Graduates from 缅北强奸鈥檚 doctoral program in Nursing have assumed leadership roles in nursing research, academia, and health care administration across Canada, including Deans/directors of nursing programs, provincial nursing officers, executive managers of health networks, and award-winning nurse scholars.
