Current research:
- Improving our civilization鈥檚 sustainability includes increasing efficiencies in material production and use. As an example, phosphorus mining, fertilizer production, and use is currently unsustainable. We are striving to create different phosphorus loops to recover and reuse this critical nutrient.
- Testing new low temperature low pressure process and materials engineering design ideas at the lab bench scale, characterizing the products, and assessing the process and materials sustainability, and presenting these results clearly are activities for all research projects in this group.
- Projects in crystallization, vertebrate biomineralization, and carbonate chemistry are also part of this group鈥檚 activities.
