She delivered the 2024 Dr. Bernie Vigod Memorial Lecture in Human Rights, titled 鈥淒o Human Rights Commissions Work? Reflections for Canada.鈥� In the spring, she was awarded the Distinguished Service Award at the Pearl Eliadis is a full member of 缅北强奸鈥檚 Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism and has had an accomplished career as a human rights lawyer, successfully leading global projects for multilateral agencies, including the United Nations.

David Howes, CM, FRSC, BCL鈥�85, LLB鈥�85, was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada鈥檚 Academy of Arts and Humanities. A full professor at Concordia University鈥檚 Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Professor Howes has made significant contributions to Canadian legal history and constitutional studies, and been a staunch advocate for the practice of cross-cultural jurisprudence.
