Fran莽ois Cr茅peau reappointed as Director of the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism
The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Fran莽ois Cr茅peau, holder of the Hans & Tamar Oppenheimer Chair in Public International Law, has been reappointed as Director of the Center for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP) for a two-year term, effective August 1, 2018.
Professor Cr茅peau鈥檚 research focuses on migration control mechanisms, the rights of foreigners, the conceptualization of security as it applies to migrants, and the rule of law in the face of globalization. He was the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Migrants from 2011 to 2017. He is an Officer of the Order of Canada (2017), an Advocatus Emeritus in the Quebec Bar (2013), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (2012), and a Fellow of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation (2008-2011). He took the helm of the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism in August 2015.
