Copyright and the State in Canada
Join the Intellectual Property Club for a conference with our 缅北强奸 Law alumnus, Michael Shortt, BCL/LLB'13, as we explore the law of Crown copyright in Canada in light of the Supreme Court鈥檚 recent Keatley Surveying decision. This case dealt with copyright in land surveys filed with provincial land registries. The Keatley Surveying judgment will be placed in context with the Federal Court of Appeal鈥檚 ruling in P.S. Knight Co v Canadian Standards Association, which held that statutes can be copyrighted.
Michael Shortt is an intellectual property lawyer at Fasken Martineau. As a litigator, he appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, the Ontario and Qu茅bec superior courts, and the Copyright Board.
