Alumni Highlight: KPE Grads in 2019 Olympic Hall of Fame!
This year's inductees into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame include听Faculty of Education alumni from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, who were part of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic women's hockey team.听Goaltenders Charline Labont茅 (B.Ed '11, M.SportPsych '15) and Kim St. Pierre (B.Kin '04) were on hand along with Peter Smith (B.Ed '79, M.SportPsych '86), who served as an assistant coach for the gold medal team. (The team's gold medal game victory, 2-0,听is the only time in women's Olympic hockey history Team Canada has shut out Team USA.) The Hall of Fame ceremonial events took place on Wednesday, October 23rd in Toronto. Alumna, Gillian Ferrari of the 2006 Olympic team (M.SportPsych '14) was also in attendance at the event. ()
