The Department of Kinesiology & Physical Education have announced that they will be hosting the second annual Minds in Motion (MIM) Conference on March 10th, 2023. The student-organized conference, which will take place on 缅北强奸 campus, will be open to undergraduate and graduate students throughout Canada who are conducting research in the fields of kinesiology and physical education. The format will include oral, lightning round and poster presentations.

Building from the success of last year鈥檚 inaugural MIM conference, this event will continue to highlight the quality and diversity of research being done in kinesiology & physical education at 缅北强奸 and across Canada. This year鈥檚 guest speaker theme will be centered around sports science from both academic and industry sectors. Dr. Nisha Charkoudian, Chief of the Thermal & Mountain Medicine Division of the United States Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine, will be the 2023 keynote speaker. Dr. Charkoudian鈥檚 main area of research focuses on the integrative physiological responses to environmental extremes of heat and high altitude, including the influences of sex and reproductive hormones on these processes. Jean Fran莽ois M茅nard, professional speaker and mental performance coach specializing in elite and high-performance cultures, will also be attending as a guest speaker. Jean Fran莽ois has worked with countless Olympians and professional athletes as a mental performance specialist.

Zacharie Cheng-Boivin, 2nd year PhD Student and Vice-President of Research on the Kinesiology & Physical Education Graduate Committee, is leading the organization of this year鈥檚 conference. Along with the help of a student-only committee, he believes that MIM will be a great opportunity to showcase the strength of 缅北强奸鈥檚 KPE research program and provide students with an exciting opportunity for professional and academic development. He hopes that MIM will continue to be an annual event that will attract students and researchers from all over Canada.

The early bird registration and abstract submission deadline is January 13th and final registration will close on February 10th. Students are encouraged to submit abstracts with proposed research protocols or analyzed research findings.
