Dr. Bassam Khoury is Assistant Professor with the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Dr. Khoury's聽research focuses on clinical, social, and cognitive applications of mindfulness. His work also involves examining the process, outcomes, and effectiveness of mindfulness-based treatments. His current research program is primarily concentrated on investigating the effects of comprehensive mindfulness education program on the health and well-being of counselling/psychology trainees, the symptoms of their clients, and the therapeutic process. In addition, his research involves investigating the feasibility and effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions for specific populations (e.g., schizophrenia, borderline patients, and forensic population). The principal goal of his聽research is to improve the health, well-being, and functioning of clinical and non-clinical populations via the development, implementation, and validation of effective meditation programs and mindfulness-based treatments.
