Consult the lists below for Faculty of Education approved Foundation courses
Ìý
You must have your fall and winter course selections verified prior to the start of classes. Once you have selected your courses, please ensure to have them verified by your Advisor (ensure your program checklist is ready to go!).
Please note, some courses may have department restrictions, meaning Minerva will prevent you from registering (e.g. closed course, reserved closed). For tips on handling these common registration problems, please review the webpage.

Languages
Placement tests:ÌýAll language courses have limited enrollment and, as such, may require departmental approval (issued by the department offering the course). Consult the eCalendar and/or the for information about placement tests or departmental approval, if necessary. Placement tests for French and English Second Language courses and for English for Academic Purposes will be held during the week prior to the beginning of classes in September.
Courses with numbers ending in D1 and D2Ìýare taught in two consecutive terms (usually fall and winter). Students must register for the same section of both the D1 and D2 components. No credit will be given unless both components (D1 and D2) are successfully completed in consecutive terms, e.g., fall 2021Ìýand winter 2022.
No more than one 6-credit or 9-credit language at an introductory level should be taken during the Foundation Program year. Students with prior knowledge of aÌýlanguage may take higher-level courses with permission from the department.
A 6-credit intensive language course given in one term is permitted - this is equivalent to two coursesÌýboth in the number of credits as well as the workload.
