Montreal Gazette article praises partnership between DISE, James Lyng Urban Arts School: "High School Rocks!"

"It鈥檚 not often you鈥檒l hear a teen saying, 'High school rocks!'," wrote Montreal Gazette reporter T'Cha Dunlevy this week, "But it鈥檚 hard to think of a better way to describe what鈥檚 going on at James Lyng."听 looks at the success of one aspect of the urban arts partnership between St-Henri's James Lyng Urban Arts School and the Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) at 缅北强奸.

In 2015 DISE听embarked on a program to support the transformation of听James Lyng High into an urban arts school, the first of its kind in Canada. The goals of the new perspectives are to engage students in support of learning, and improve success rates.

The partnership grant, "Building partnership synergy between school, university, and community artists", is funded by the听Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), led by DISE Prof. Bronwen Low, and听supported by DISE Profs.听Mindy Carter, Claudia Mitchell and听Elizabeth Wood.听
