2013 Research Conference - Health Care Access for Linguistic Minorities: Breaking the barriers

On Sunday, March 24th and Monday, March 25th, 2013, the 缅北强奸 Training and Retention of Health Professionals Project鈥檚 hosted a research conference entitled Breaking the barriers: Overcoming language and cultural barriers to the delivery of equitable health care services to linguistic minorities鈥擝ringing together research and practice. The focus of the conference was to discuss the challenges encountered in attempting to address language and cultural barriers in the delivery of equitable healthcare services to linguistic minorities and to find ways to bring together research and practice in this area. The goal of the conference was to articulate the nature of the newly emerging field "the study of cross-linguistic and cross-cultural barriers in healthcare communication" by bringing together leading thinkers and scholars from various complementary disciplines.
