Welcome to the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences' Undergraduate Teaching Clinic. We provide high quality, comprehensive care for about 50% the cost of a private office. Our patients receive excellent care, and in turn, our students gain skills to prepare them to become dentists.

To reduce any risks associated with aerosol generating procedures, all such procedures are performed in closed rooms where we have installed HEPA filters, and staff have been supplied with the PPE necessary to work safely and to keep our patients safe.

Eligibility and how to apply

All prospective patients must first attend a screening appointment prior to being accepted as new patients. We are a teaching institution where patients are selected based on the requirements of our educational program. Patients with limited treatment needs (i.e. less than 4 fillings, no need for crowns, root canal treatment, denture, etc.) are not likely to be accepted for treatment in our clinic.

This visit will take approximately 3 hours and will determine if your treatment needs are appropriate for our teaching clinic. Radiographs (x-rays) are normally taken at the screening appointment. If treatment needs are suitable for our teaching clinic your file will be assigned to a student dentist. If you have had radiographs taken in the past year, please indicate it on the forms. Digital radiographs can be included in the online form, or sent by email.

If you are eligible and wish to become a patient of the Undergraduate Teaching Clinic, please fill out the application form and a member of our team will contact you for a screening appointment: www.mcgill.ca/dentistry/patient-application-form.

You can also consult our FAQ page for answers to the most frequently asked questions about the clinic.
