Mireille De La Sablonniere

Mireille De La Sablonnière-Griffin, Ph.D., is an assistant professor at the Centre Urbanisation Culture Société of INRS (Montreal, Canada) and a member of the INRS-UQAT mixed research unit in Indigenous Studies. Her current research focuses on the well-being of Indigenous children and youth, particularly from the perspective of existing, but also needed culturally safe and indigenously led, social services. As such, her current work strives to support Indigenous communities in their actions towards autonomous and Indigenous-governed children and family services. Her work also documents the service trajectories of First Nations children within mainstream youth protection services, in partnership with mainstream and First Nations community services, to develop responses and services better adapted to their situations. Her research activities also include the prevention and disclosure of childhood sexual abuse, as well as the intersection of child protection services and disabilities.
