This year, a record six SPOT faculty members received funding from the Fonds de Recherche du Qu茅bec 鈥 Sant茅 (FRQS), including three new Junior 1 recipients (Tania Janaudis-Ferreira; Raphael Lencucha; Laurence Roy), and three Senior recipients (Sara Ahmed; Anouk Lamontagne; Isabelle Gagnon). The FRQS Research Scholar and Clinician Research Scholar awards aim to facilitate the recruitment of qualified researchers at either the beginning of their career, or continuing a career in health.
Dr. Richard Preuss has been named to the Faculty Honour list for Educational Excellence, for 2016-2017. The goal of the Faculty Honour List for Educational Excellence is to recognize outstanding contributions to education in the Faculty of Medicine, in the areas of teaching, educational leadership and innovation, faculty development, and research and scholarly activity.
Barbara Shankland, Faculty Lecturer at SPOT has been awarded the Prix d鈥橢xcellence from the 聽Ordre des ergoth茅rapeutes du Qu茅bec. This award recognizes outstanding personal qualities as well as involvement and actions directed towards the development, progression, promotion and updating occupational skills. The winner of this award makes a significant impact on the profession.
Susanne Mak, Assistant Professor [Professional] at SPOT: has been awarded the Jonathan Campbell Meakins and Family Memorial Fellowship 2016. This Fellowship has been created to 鈥渇urther and promote excellence in medical education by either an advanced postgraduate trainee or a faculty member in the Faculty of Medicine at 缅北强奸.鈥澛
Dr. Sara Ahmed, Assistant Professor at SPOT has been awarded the Rosemary Wedderburn Brown Prize for 2016. SPOT Faculty member Dr. Stefanie Blain-Moraes聽聽 has been awarded a Mitacs Accelerate grant, Tuning in to emotions of non-communicative persons in partnership with the Old Port of Montreal.

Dr. Aliki Thomas, Assistant Professor at SPOT has received funding from REPAR for a second consecutive year for her work with the Knowledge Translation Strategic Initiative in Rehabilitation in Qu茅bec.
