The Department of Pediatrics is happy to announce Dr. Laurent Legault, Associate Professor, will assume the Directorship of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism as of July 1, 2020.
Dr. Legault's聽clinical and research focus over his professional career has been on Type I Diabetes Mellitus and the challenge of pediatric obesity. He has been quite innovative in his efforts and indeed has played a key role in the development of a closed loop pancreas that with its introduction will substantially change practice and management.
Dr. Richard Gosselin, Associate Professor, has been selected as the Division Director of Neonatology for the Montreal Children鈥檚 Hospital-MUHC. Dr. Gosselin has been Interim Director since March 1, 2021, and his mandate will begin for a 5-year initial term on July 1, 2021.

Dr. Adrian Dancea has been appointed to a third and final mandate as Division Director of Pediatric Cardiology with the term to commence on July 1, 2020.
A medical graduate of the University of Ottawa, Dr. Dancea completed his pediatric residency and cardiology subspecialty training at 缅北强奸 and the Montreal Children's Hospital (MCH). Along the way he also picked up a Physician Executive MBA (University of Tennessee). An accomplished interventional pediatric cardiologist (training at UCSF), Dr. Dancea has led his Division since 2009.
Dr. Delphine Collin-V茅zina has been awarded a over 7 years to set up and run the Canadian Consortium on Child Trauma and Trauma-Informed Care.
Dr. Samir Shaheen-Hussain, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics' Division of Emergency Medicine, publishes聽book, "Fighting for a Hand to Hold:聽Confronting Medical Colonialism against Indigenous Children in Canada", that is an exploration of anti-Indigenous systemic racism in Canadian health care and the medical establishment's role in colonial genocide.
Dr. Gabriel Altit, Assistant Professor in the Division of Neonatology, has been nominated as Member of the Canadian Pediatric Society (CPS) Committee on the Fetus and Newborn (COFN) which helps to define standards of care in neonatology in Canada.
