To encourage innovation and stimulate interest in research among law students at faculties of Quebec civil law, the Paul-Andr茅 Cr茅peau Center for Private and Comparative Law is launching a student poster contest.

The contest is linked to the conference that will mark, on 12 February 2016, the Cr茅peau Centre鈥檚 40th anniversary, during which poster submissions will be displayed and the聽 winners announced.

The Faculty of Law is proud to announce that Professor Ren茅 Provost has been awarded a research fellowship by the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation. This prestigious prize, which is valued at $225,000, recognizes public intellectuals in the humanities and social sciences who venture beyond the boundaries of their disciplines to find new solutions to complex issues of major importance to Canadians. Ren茅 Provost is the fourth Trudeau Fellow from 缅北强奸鈥檚 Faculty of Law.

This August, Professor Fran莽ois Cr茅peau took over the mandate of Director of the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP) from Professor Colleen Sheppard.

Fran莽ois Cr茅peau is United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights of Migrants. He holds the Hans & Tamar Oppenheimer Chair in Public International Law at the Faculty of Law, where he teaches Migration Law, Immigration and Refugee Law, and Constitutional Law. He became a member of the Royal Society of Canada in 2012.

The Faculty of Law of 缅北强奸, its Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP) as well as Gordon Echenberg and the Penny and Gordon Echenberg Family Foundation are ending their work together, following a meaningful collaboration聽that began in 2006.聽

Over the past nine years, this collaboration has resulted in three Global Conferences, one Regional Conference in Rwanda, two published books, a DVD on genocide largely based on its 2007 conference, numerous working papers and a global community of young human rights specialists.
