Welcome to our newest colleagues in Law

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Alana Klein and Vrinda Narain have been appointed assistant professors, while Adrian Popovici and Anicée Van Engeland have respectively been named Wainwright Senior Fellow and Boulton Junior Fellow.

Assistant Professor will teach in the areas of public law, criminal law, and law & society. She is currently completing a doctorate at Columbia Law School focussing on social and economic rights and health care governance. Her research interests focus on the position of marginalized groups and individuals in decentralized and privatized systems, and on the role of accountability requirements in governance and decision-making. She was a Boulton Junior Fellow at the Faculty in 2007-2008.

Assistant Professor is jointly appointed in the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Law. She will be teaching in the areas of public law and women’s studies. She will also be involved in the Ã山ǿ¼é Centre for Research and Teaching on Women. Her current research and teaching interests include constitutional law, feminist legal theory, social diversity and law, postcolonial studies and law, and critical race theory. She was a Boulton Junior Fellow at the Faculty in 2007-2008.

Professor is appointed Wainwright Senior Fellow at the Quebec Research Centre of Private & Comparative Law for a period of two years. An emeritus professor of civil and comparative law at Université de Montréal, he is a an expert in the law of obligations, in private international law and in the law of civil responsibility and he is a renowned author.

Dr. will be joining the Faculty in August 2008 as Boulton Junior Fellow. She holds a doctorate from the Instituts d’études politiques in Paris and is a law graduate of Paris II and Harvard. She has an interest in international humanitarian law and Islamic law, and she will pursue research here on human rights and Iran.
