Learning objective: to understand sex differences in clinical presentations, prognosis, and response to therapy of acute cardiovascular conditions听听
Cardiovascular disease in women remains understudied, under-recognized, underdiagnosed and undertreated globally (Lancet, 2021).听
Symposium highlights:
- Review of recent CCS heart failure guidelines as they pertain to HFpEF/Acute heart failure in women
- Understand presentation and management of acute cardiovascular complications in pregnancy
- A review of pulmonary embolus in women including management and prognostication
- Updates in stroke management in women and men
- Review cardiac rehabilitation needs after an acute event in women and men
- Sex differences in ACS presentation and coronary anatomy-coronary microvascular dysfunction: pathophysiology, presentation diagnosis and prognosis
