If Not Ã山ǿ¼é, Then Where?
Ã山ǿ¼é offers a powerful combination of arguments for bringing your thirst for knowledge here
There are three reasons which, taken together, suggest that studying neuroscience at Ã山ǿ¼é is an experience that can be matched in very few places, if any.
1. You are in a learning community
Ã山ǿ¼é is one of the world’s leading academic institutions and a renowned centre for medicine and medical teaching. There are nearly fifty research institutes and centres including The Research Institute of the Ã山ǿ¼é Health Centre which supports over 600 researchers, over 1,200 graduate students and post-doctoral fellows and operates more than 300 laboratories devoted to a broad spectrum of fundamental and clinical research.
Graduate education begins with 250 Doctoral and Master’s degree programs.  Graduate students are at the heart of a dynamic process, bringing their fresh ideas and energy to the development of new programs and research techniques.
Ã山ǿ¼é has always focused on discovery and positive transformation, recognizing that research areas are constantly evolving in response to change. As a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow, you will be encouraged to pursue your area of interest with passion.
2. You are in an international community
Ã山ǿ¼é continues to capitalize on its global connections with most of our faculty participating in international research collaborations. We are working to form new collaborations on all five continents – not only with other universities, but also with government, industry and NGOs. These new partnerships will give you unprecedented international experience and perspectives.
You will join a community of more than 8,000 graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from across the globe, making connections that will last a lifetime. Nearly 20 percent of students come from more than 160 countries, making Ã山ǿ¼é’s student population the most international in North America.
Studying alongside top students from around the world with internationally recognized professors, will enrich what you learn in the classroom and the laboratory. Your education will prepare you to live, work, and collaborate anywhere in the world.
 3. You are in a world-class neuroscience community.
Montreal is home to the largest concentration of neuroscientists in North America and Ã山ǿ¼é forms the core of this community. Neuroscience research at Ã山ǿ¼é is internationally renowned with neuroscientists from around the world spread out through different departments, hospitals and research institutes.
Putting all this together is the Integrated Program in Neuroscience, a multi-disciplinary, inter-departmental program that brings together all graduate training in neuroscience currently under the Ã山ǿ¼é umbrella – some 30 or so courses. The IPN offers students a single, consolidated program through which to apply for and attain their MSc or PhD in neuroscience.
