We're excited to extend a warm Ã山ǿ¼é Web Services community welcome to our new President, Deep Saini! We look forward to hearing more about President Saini's vision for Ã山ǿ¼é. After all, we love to be bold! (That's a reference to !)
A fresh start
In preparation for President Saini's arrival in April, we worked with the Office of the President and Vice-Chancellor to launch a revamped, streamlined version of the OPVC website. If you're a regular visitor to the site, you might have noticed the new messages already shared by President Saini. Other than that, you might not have noticed any drastic changes...but the new site is actually very different from the previous version.
Our revamp project included a thorough site content audit which allowed us to reduce site content significantly.
Through the audit we identified much of the content (some of which was decades old) could be migrated to archival formats. The result is a new iteration of our Office of the Principal website with 90% less content - from 500 pieces of content (nodes) to about 50!
Benefits of reducing site content
- Increases the visibility of President's Saini's strategic messaging
- Easier to maintain
- Facilitates upcoming changes to site and content management processes:
- Translation requirements
- Drupal 9 upgrade
