Liberal Arts

Overview

Liberal Arts offers a broad, non-specialist undergraduate education in the humanities. Our program is uniquely tailored to a research-intensive university.

You will experience a classical liberal arts education that focuses on global perspectives and acknowledges diversity and difference. This program will teach you new ways of engaging critically with the liberal arts as you explore diverse topics, from art, literature and history, to sexuality, politics and religion.

Students in this program pursue a minor in a language program, which helps to broaden your perspective and results in a truly well-rounded degree.

You will explore cultural works and thought coming from a range of societies and historical periods. Choose from three streams to delve into your interests:

  • Literature and the arts (including theatre and architecture)
  • History, culture and society
  • Philosophy and religion

Careers

As a Liberal Arts student, you will graduate with exceptional knowledge of how to engage critically with complex ideas and communicate effectively and persuasively. You will also be able to speak a new language! These are vital skills that will set you apart in almost every career path.
