Edward Harvey
Dr. Harvey serves or has served on multiple committees including: the executive and research committees of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA), the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS), the Canadian Orthopaedic Association (COA) and the 缅北强奸 Association of Clinical Investigators.
Positions in the past or presently held include: Editor in Chief- Canadian Journal of Surgery, Editorial Board of the JBJS Trauma Newsletter and the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, Chairman of the Research Committee - OTA, Executive Member of Basic Science Focus Forum (Annual Basic Science Course of OTA), Member of the Board of Specialty Societies Research Committee - AAOS, Chair of the Trauma Section - ORS, Program Committee - COA, President鈥檚 Subspecialty Advisory Council - COA, and the COA Executive Board as Secretary of the COA.
His research interests include fundamental and clinical aspects of bone healing that include implant and fracture optimization, stem cells and neo-vascularization, biosensors and evaluation of novel hardware and surgical approaches to expedite fracture repair. He also co-directs the Osteonecrosis Clinic with ongoing basic and clinical research projects on the effect of steroids on bone and outcome evaluation after surgery.
Dr Harvey is Co-Director of the JTN Wong Lab for Bone Engineering and collaborates with basic, clinical and engineering scientists. He has published more than 85 peer reviewed papers and holds funding from sources including CIHR, NSERC, OTA, AO Foundation and Leukemia & Lymphoma Societies of the US and Canada.
