Overview

History : A survey of critical theory, focused particularly on methodological and theoretical questions pertinent to historical analysis. Thinkers to be read and discussed include Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche, Freud, Weber, Lukács, the Frankfurt School, Althusser, Derrida, Deleuze, Foucault, Lacan, and their contemporary interpreters. Primary texts of major thinkers and secondary writings will be included.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2018-2019 academic year.
