Overview
Mathematics & Statistics (Sci) : The mathematical concepts of chaos, fractals and complexity have attracted broad popular attention in magazines, books, and motion pictures. This course will expose the mathematical basis for these ideas and examine the implications in natural and social sciences, art, music, and literature. Students from diverse backgrounds will be expected to critically analyse readings and undertake projects related to their areas of interest.
Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2010-2011 academic year.

- Restriction: Open only to newly admitted students in U0 or U1, who may take only one FYS. Students who register for more than one will be obliged to withdraw from all but one of them.
