Overview

Civil Engineering : Classifications of PDEs; Laplace's Equation, steady fluid flow. Diffusion Equation; pressure transients in porous media, moisture and chemical diffusion, heat conduction; Wave Equation; waves and vibrations in strings, membranes and bars. Uniqueness of solution; variables separable solutions in rectangular and cylindrical coordinates; product solutions, elementary applications of integral transforms.
