To observe Orange Shirt Day, the 缅北强奸 School of Population and Global Health will host a simulcast of the 2nd Annual Orange Shirt Day Lecture for Pediatric Grand Rounds at the Montreal Children's Hospital.

Speakers

  • Anne Panasuk, anthropologist, retired Radio-Canada journalist, and author of Auassat : 脌 la recherche des enfants disparus;
  • Fran莽oise Ruperthouse, Anishnabe from Pikogan and director of Association Awacak.

The presentation will be in French, but English interpretation services will be available for the SPGH simulcast

Objectives:

  1. Describe how Indigenous children disappeared from the Quebec healthcare system and how this has impacted families' relationships with institutions to this day.
  2. Explain Bill 79, which allows for the possibility of finding out what happened to Indigenous children who went missing after a hospital stay in Quebec
  3. Explore the role of doctors in these "disappearances", and in reparations
