A health and wellness program for faculty and staff
Healthy is the New Happy is a wellness program undertaken by the Faculty of Science in order to help employees improve their overall health and well-being.
The Program aims to:
- Empower staff and faculty to lead healthier lifestyles, find fulfillment and satisfaction in their working environment and fostering a culture that embraces positive change
- Provide opportunities to build knowledge and apply health related strategies within the workplace
- Support staff and faculty in their efforts to positively impact workplace well-being

Passionate about health and well-being? Become a Wellness Ambassador!
We are actively looking for volunteers interested in creating and promoting a healthy workplace culture for all, by becoming a Wellness Ambassador. By participating in this initiative you will play a vital role in fostering wellness throughout the faculty by encouraging others to participate in wellness events and activities. The Wellness Ambassador Program will draw on your knowledge, enthusiasm, and ability to motivate others to play an active role in their health and well-being.
Program Objectives
- Empowering employees by leading healthier lifestyles, find fulfillment and satisfaction in their working environment and fostering a culture that embraces positive change
Role of an Ambassador
- Identify the needs in your area and suggest ideas and strategies to address these needs
- Share wellness activities and events with your units and encourage them to participate
- Communicate wellness news, resources, and strategies to your units

Commitment
- Approximately 1-2 hours per month for at least a one year period
