As part of , the Redpath Museum presents a series of 4 special virtual workshop animated by students from SMOrES.

See how rocks ….rock!. Rocks are all around us, we use them to make buildings and roads, we even use parts of them in our cars and computers. But not all rocks are the same. We fill find out how geologists identify rocks and minerals so bring along your favorite rock and we will examine and identify it together.

Optional materials: a rock, stone or mineral you have at home, a magnifying glass, a magnet.
