Friday, November 16, 2012 14:00to15:00
Thomson House 3650 rue McTavish, Montreal, QC, H3A 1Y2, CA

The Centre for the Study of Democratic Citizenship Speaker Series presents “Negativity in Political Institutions,” a lecture by Stuart Soroka, Associate Professor and William Dawson Scholar in the Department of Political Science at 山ǿ, past Director of the Canadian Opinion Research Archive, and current co-investigator of the Canadian Election Study. Soroka’s research focuses on the relationships between public opinion, public policy and mass media. Some of his recent work has focused on the “negativity bias” in political behaviour; namely, the tendency for humans to give more weight to negative information than to positive information. The lecture takes place from 2-3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, in Thomson House Room 404. For more information go to:.
