´¡²ú²õ³Ù°ù²¹³¦³Ù:ÌýA core challenge across the brain sciences is to understand how structural and functional properties of the brain support our unique and individual behaviours across health and disease. In recent years, an exponentially increasing amount of research has been devoted to implementing machine learning brain-based predictive modelling approaches to uncover neuroimaging signatures of behaviours at an individual level. Here, I will provide an overview of how these approaches and highlight the methodological and interpretational challenges associated with these models. Next, I will present findings from a series of studies establishing the neurobiological correlates of distinct behaviours. Finally, I will argue that these approaches can provide us with clinically-relevant insights and subsequently inform the development of personalised early intervention, diagnostic, and therapeutic strategies for neurological and psychiatric illnesses.

The Feindel Brain and Mind Seminar Series will advance the vision of Dr. William Feindel (1918–2014), Former Director of the Neuro (1972–1984), to constantly bridge the clinical and research realms. The talks will highlight the latest advances and discoveries in neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, and neuroimaging.

Speakers will include scientists from across The Neuro, as well as colleagues and collaborators locally and from around the world. The series is intended to provide a virtual forum for scientists and trainees to continue to foster interdisciplinary exchanges on the mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of brain and cognitive disorders.
