"A generous crowd heaped wave after wave of applause on performers for Saturday evening’s Prince Edward Music Festival concert in St. Mary Magdalene Church.The roster was a super talented string foursome plus founding artistic director and pianist Stephane Lemelin, plus soprano soloist Donna Brown.The strings were violinists Laurence Kayaleh and Axel Strauss, violistDouglas McNabney and cellist Paul Marleyn. They excelled in two major works in a concert titled “The Rose and the Fleur-de-Lys,” intended to reflect the two predominant Canadian cultures, as Lemelin explained it."
