Biography: 

Originally from Abitibi, Alexandre obtained a master鈥檚 degree in percussion in 2018, and has received the Prize with distinction from the Quebec City Conservatory of Music, in the class of Anne-Julie Caron. He studied with Hugues Tremblay and graduated in orchestral performance at the Montreal Conservatory in 2019. He is principal percussionist of the Orchestre M茅tropolitain (dir. Yannick N茅zet-S茅guin) since 2019.

In summer 2016, he joined the YOA Orchestra of the Americas for their European tour 鈥淣ordic-Baltic鈥. He has been part of the Roots and Rhizomes program at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in 2017, where he performed and has participated in seminars with Steven Schick and Aiyun Huang.

Alexandre has distinguished himself in competitions such as the Canadian Music Competition, in which he won a first prize as a soloist, and the 2015 OSM Manulife Competition, where he won the Second Prize and the award for the best performance of the Canadian work.

Since many years, he has the privilege to work with the Orchestre symphonique de Qu茅bec, Orchestre de l鈥橝gora, Les Violons du Roy, I Musici and numerous creation projects and chamber music ensembles such as Sixtrum and EP4 Percussion Ensemble. He has also been vibraphonist and drummer for recordings and performances on pop/jazz projects.

Teaching being an important aspect of his musical career, he has worked with several organizations including the Quebec City Conservatory and is currently teaching at Coll猫ge Notre-Dame in Montreal.

Il a 茅tudi茅 l鈥檃nn茅e suivante aupr猫s de Hugues Tremblay et compl茅t茅 un dipl么me de perfectionnement en jeu d鈥檕rchestre au Conservatoire de musique de Montr茅al. Depuis 2019, Alexandre occupe le poste de percussionniste solo 脿 l鈥橭rchestre M茅tropolitain (dir. Yannick N茅zet-S茅guin).

脌 l鈥櫭﹖茅 2016, il a 茅t茅 membre du YOA Orchestra of the Americas pour leur tourn茅e europ茅enne 芦 Nordic-Baltic 禄. Il a particip茅 aux performances et s茅minaires du programme Roots and Rhizomes au Centre des arts de Banff en 2017, sous la supervision de Steven Schick et Aiyun Huang.

En 2014, Alexandre s鈥檈st illustr茅 au Concours de musique du Canada, auquel il remporte un premier prix en tant que soliste, et au Concours OSM Manuvie 2015, o霉 il obtient le second prix de percussion ainsi que le prix pour la meilleure performance de l鈥櫯搖vre canadienne.

Depuis plusieurs ann茅es, il a le privil猫ge de se joindre r茅guli猫rement 脿 l鈥橭rchestre symphonique de Qu茅bec, l鈥橭rchestre de l鈥橝gora, Les Violons du Roy, I Musici et 脿 de nombreux projets de cr茅ation et musique de chambre dont Sixtrum et EP4 Ensemble 脿 percussion. Il a aussi particip茅 脿 des enregistrements et concerts pop/jazz en tant que vibraphoniste et batteur.

L鈥檈nseignement a toujours fait partie de son parcours musical. Il a collabor茅 avec plusieurs 茅tablissements incluant le Conservatoire de musique de Qu茅bec et enseigne pr茅sentement au Coll猫ge Notre-Dame de Montr茅al.
