Local Pride events (August 2024)

Published: 22 July 2024

Faith has increasingly become a source of motivation to join the movement toward greater justice for LGBTQ+ people. As Pride Month gets under way and we approach the annual parade in Montreal, here are a few events and resources that shed light on the intersection of faith and equity:

  • August 9 at 6:30 PM: Join the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul for an evening of Christian fellowship featuring a free dinner followed by the wonderful music of the “Open House Jazz Collective.” The band prides itself on its ability to build upon the vibrancy of the jazz tradition while making it more accessible, with the goal of providing a place for Queer and BIPOC creatives to build a safe space to prioritize radical joy through music. Reservations are required as space is limited: please RSVP at info [at] standrewstpaul.com
  • August 11 at 9:00 AM: . Join the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul to celebrate God’s inclusiveness in the open air of the beautiful Quiet Garden of The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul. The service will feature Rev. Dr. Robert Faris as our guest preacher. Communion will be served.
  • August 11 at 11:00 AM: Join them for their Annual Outdoor Pride Service. This year with special guest Mikah Meyer.
  • Religious groups at Pride: In addition to the events, several local religious communities will be present at the Montreal Pride Parade. Info can be found for the following communities:
