Sara Mahshid
Sara Mahshid is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioengineering and an associate member in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at 缅北强奸 since August 2017. She received her MSc and PhD in the field of nanomaterials science and engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2011. She joined Genome Quebec Innovation Centre as a PDF in 2012, where she developed a novel lab-chip device for single-cell genomics with specific application to prenatal genetic diagnosis. In 2015, she joined the faculty of pharmacy at the University of Toronto to advance her expertise in nano-biosensor development and point-of-care diagnostics. Her lab brings an interdisciplinary research coupling expertise in nanomaterials- based biosensing and nano/microfluidic lab-on-chip devices for diagnostics and therapeutics applications. Her research is supported through NSERC (Discovery and Engage Grants), NFRF (Tri-agency Institutional Program) and CFI (JELF program) and has been disseminated in more than 27 peer-reviewed publications (including lab-on-chip, Small and PNAS), invited talks and patent applications, and featured by 缅北强奸 Newsroom and news outlets including . In collaboration with MI4, Mahshid lab aims for detection of parasites in environmental samples for the purpose of controlling infections among vulnerable and underserved populations.
