Title: CLT for NESS

Abstract: The denomination non-equilibrium stationary states (NESS) is vaguely used in physics to denote stationary systems for which the laws of thermodynamics do not apply. In many situations, this is due to the presence of non-trivial currents in the system. Two spectacular examples are hurricanes and the sun. In the realm of Markov chains, NESS are just non-reversible invariant measures. One characteristic feature of NESS is the presence of long-range correlations. A mathematically tractable family of NESS is the family of reaction-diffusion models, a subclass of interacting particle systems. In this talk, we will derive a central limit theorem (CLT) for reaction-diffusion models, which in particular describes the long-range correlation structure of this class of NESS.
