Congratulations to Founder's Day honourees

Published: 14 February 2019

Founder's Day,聽our annual celebration of the life and generosity of our benefactor, Sir William Christopher Macdonald. is held on the Thursday closest to the anniversary of his birth - February 10, 1831. Founder鈥檚 Day festivities are an occasion to celebrate our history, our strengths and our promise for the future.

Honoured this year with the Macdonald Campus Award of Excellence for Administrative and Support Staff was Ann Gossage, Administrative Assistant for the Departments of Natural Resource Sciences and Animal Science. Brian Driscoll, chair of NRS, read the citation, stating "at 缅北强奸 we are privileged to have such wonderful, dedicated and talented staff, thus it is a challenge to narrow down who to nominate. Regardless, the one person whom I felt most deserves this award is Ann Gossage. It appears to me that there is no better run department in the Faculty than NRS, except perhaps Animal Science; and the reason things work so smoothly in these departments is because they are both administered by Ann. The Chair of the Animal Sciences, Raj Duggavathi, heartily agreed with me when I told him that I intended to nominate Ann. I know that all members of both departments feel the same way. I can attest with much gratitude that our jobs as departmental Chairs are much easier than most, because we can depend on Ann for so much."

Six students received Gold Key Awards, recognizing their outstanding excellence, leadership and contributions to extra-curricular activities at the Macdonald Campus:

Nancy He (Food Science/Nutritional Science); Mandy Jian (Food Science/Nutritional Science); Alice Lefebvre (Bioresource Engineering); Emma Rollins (Life Sciences); Behrouz Tilyayev (Food Science); and Pragya Tiwary (MSc candidate - Food Science).
