SKILLSETS in collaboration with the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (FAES) is excited to launch the first year of the Lister Family Engaged Science Initiative. This year, there are numerous workshops available to help you improve your science communication skills.
Talking It Up Without Dumbing It Down Workshop Series (3-workshops)
This workshop series is designed to teach faculty members and听graduate students effective ways to explain their research to a variety of audiences. These workshops offer听participants the opportunity to develop personalized research pitches and present their work effectively in written, oral, and visual platforms.
The first workshop, Creating a Research Narrative, will cover strategies to articulate their research in ways that are accessible to and effective for a diversity of audiences. This session will allow students to modify their writing to fit the needs of their audience, whether for a conference abstract, social media platform, press release or other platform.听
