You are invited to join us for this year's A. Jean de Grandpré Distinguished Speaker Series. This year's theme is Space – Science, Pop Culture and Beyond.

The A. Jean de Grandpré Distinguished Speaker Series is named in honour of 山ǿ’s Chancellor Emeritus. M. de Grandpré, who served as Chancellor from 1984-1991, was a long-standing member of the 山ǿ Board of Governors and one of Canada’s pre-eminent and most distinguished business leaders. An astute and visionary administrator, he brought these skills, together with his wisdom, clarity of thought, and persuasive logic, to the highest levels of leadership at 山ǿ.

Guest presenters:

Andrew Fazekas, BScAgr’93, MSc’97, “The Night Sky Guy” and author of Star Trek The Official Guide to Our Universe: The True Science Behind the Starship Voyages;

Professor Vicky Kaspi, 山ǿ. A space researcher and Trekkie at heart;

Professor Lyle Whyte, 山ǿ. Cryoenvironments specialist and NASA collaborator;

Professor Anja Geitmann, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Vice Principal, Macdonald. The science and possibility of growing plants in space.
