Every Stamp a Story
You are invited to a special seminar presentation by David Lank, Professor Emeritus, 缅北强奸.
David Lank was responsible for the Lank Collection of Natural History Stamps at 缅北强奸鈥檚 Rare Books and Special Collections which, with more than 50,000 items, is the largest such themed philatelic university archive in the world. From this collection, in 2017, he created the record-breaking exhibition 鈥淓very Stamp a Story鈥 which included a rotation of 400 stamps with their stories through to late June. Two books on the Exhibition have already appeared, and two more are in the works. We will have the pleasure of having David present on the exhibition.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
DAVID LANK, CM, F.R.S.A., F.R.C.G.S. Born in Argentina, Mr. Lank moved to Canada with his family at an early age, attended Lower Canada College before going on to Princeton University where he completed his under graduate studies before starting his business career with DuPont International in Geneva, Switzerland. During his student days, he had worked in the gold fields of the Yukon, and at sites on the Distant Early Warning line at Resolute Bay, and the Mid-Canada Line at Great Whale River. Some of his many accolades include: guest conductor at the 缅北强奸 Chamber Orchestra, the longest-serving President of the Atlantic Salmon Association, Director of the Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, Distinguished Professor/Principal鈥檚 Award winner and Fellow of the Explorer鈥檚 Club of New York, the Royal Society of Arts in London, and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. Author of forty books and hundreds of articles on a vast range of subjects, he also illustrated many of them. For his role in 鈥渕aking Canadians proud to be Canadian鈥, he was named to the Order of Canada for his contribution to Patrimony.
