A Status Report on Quebec's Cap & Trade System and Its Planned Inclusion of Fuels in 2015 and On the Issues As International Civil Aviation Tackles Its Climate Impacts: A Symposium on听Links & Lessons in a Legal Context

The Institute of Air & Space Law, the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law, and the International Emissions Trading Association invites the 缅北强奸 community to a day-long symposium on carbon markets and aviation.

Symposium participants will hear from industry & academic experts about a range of increasingly inter-connected issues, implementation and legal challenges, and future policy pathways related to emissions trading developments and tackling international aviation sector emissions.

Key questions that symposium speakers & panelists will cover include:

  • What is the state of Quebec鈥檚 carbon market? How do different market participants view the nascent market design?听
  • How does Quebec treat fuels, including aviation fuels, under its cap-and-trade system? Is there any potential role for its tradable units in connection with aviation and the EU ETS?
  • What are the timelines and consequences for Quebec鈥檚 linkage to California鈥檚 market鈥nd beyond?
  • What are projected supply-demand dynamics & price projections for Quebec鈥檚 market?
  • What is the state of play in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS)? How is the EU planning to treat the aviation sector?
  • Outstanding legal issues
  • What policy is guiding Canadian airlines?

A light lunch will be served to all registered participants. As space is limited, please RSVP to Maria D鈥橝mico (maria.damico [at] mcgill.ca) as soon as possible.听
