Almost 60 years of exploration and use of outer space have brought unprecedented benefits to humanity. Space technologies, activities and issues are no longer matters just for States, but also for commercial space enterprises and non-State actors.
From the provision of cellular phone signals to navigation, from banking to weather forecasting, disaster monitoring and agriculture, space technology and applications have become intertwined in our daily lives. However, with ever increasing space junk, harmful interference with radio communications, excessive space militarization, possible space weaponisation and conflicts in space, the disruption of the space infrastructure and services would have devastating impacts on society globally.聽
A panel of world鈥檚 leading experts in space technology, law, policy and diplomacy will address crucial issues related to the threats to the safety, security, and sustainability of outer space.
Cocktail reception to follow.
